I was a IA for an education studies class called EDS 130. In this role I supported college students volunteering in elementrary classrooms.I also lead sections where I facilitate discussions about classroom and educational ethics, educational tactics, and socioeconmoic issues in schools, through the course's readings.
As part of my Education Studies Minor, I did 120 hours of classroom observation and aid. This experience allowed me to gain in in-depth understanding of the classroom environment and how children learn. It's this experience that lead me to desire to aid children with intellectual disabilities in the classroom and with their learning.
As an Instructional Assistant, I worked under Caren. She is a experinced teacher, children's book author, and leader in the field of education. She aided in my personally and career development, aiding advice and networking.
