EYE TRACKING GAMES TO TRAIN ATTENTION

From young children just learning how to learn, to older adults who feel the effects of time, people struggle with their attention. As we strengthen our muscles with exercise, we can strengthen our attention skills with dedicated practice. Just like a crossing guard who tells us to 'look both ways' really means 'attend to the road', we train attention with games that respond to gaze.

HACKATHON

Experience is the best teacher, and hackathons are all about experience. In this hackathon weekend, participants will use eye and movement sensors to create games. Prizes will be awarded to teams that demonstrate the most effective use of motion controls, the most creative use of motion controls, and the best game using motion controls.

DISTRACTED DRIVING AND AGING

You are driving along and your cell-phone buzzes. What do you do? We all know that taking our attention off the road to look at our cellphones is dangerous, but what if we are stopped at a red light? How long does it take to go from using our cell phone to giving driving the attention it deserves? In this project we aim to study that question by developing a driving simulator that includes a cellphone.
