In 2019, we are back at it again! With the challenge of creating a recurring program without recurring funding, the PoNG Center managed to provide the same quality coach-based mentoring on a smaller scale for this year's internship. This summer, 4 bright young adults on the autism spectrum received personal, professional, and tech development skills from a diligent coach as well as two alumni interns. We were thrilled to pair graduated interns with current ones to give each a chance to learn from the other, for the former interns to develop mentoring and leadership skills, and for the new interns to provide a peer network that we hope is ever-expanding. This year's program was small but mighty!! This gives us great confidence that this endeavor is both worthwhile, scalable and will effect impactful changes in this underserved but deserving population.
