Believe it
or not, I am a medical graduate, kind of in limbo between med school and
residency. So I’m a doctor in the academic sense, but I am not yet a licensed
practicing physician. So…please see an
experienced and licensed physician for medical advice. The image links to my alma mater, St.
George’s University School of Medicine.
It’s a big universe out there. We are
significant in that our observations make the universe more significant than
us. I took an astronomy course with an
emphasis on astrophysics, and there’s a lot of cool stuff out there…
I use a Meade ETX-125EC.
It’s an older model but it works extremely well. I’ve been able to see some deep sky objects
even in a suburban neighborhood with a city nearby.
I do enjoy these classic science-fiction

And then there’s my all-time favorite movie:
Machinima is short for “Machine Cinema,”
where a content creator uses a game engine as an ad hoc studio to create a
movie. This was popularized back in 2002
by a company called Roosterteeth,
LLC with a popular web series:
Some sub-genres of Machinima include the
“minds” series, in which a video game character, usually one without a voice of
his or her own, and voice the character, usually to comedic effect. This particular style of machinima was
popularized by Ross Scott of his own label Accursed Farms, with Freeman’s
Mind. This series gives voice
to Gordon Freeman of Half-Life fame.
Since then, there have been multiple spin-offs and other minds-style
projects. Here are some of my favorites,
as well as my own project.
Advisory: Mind Series
often contain scenes of graphic violence and contain very strong language.
Viewer Discretion is advised.
It’s a great way to bleed off stress,
meet new people from home, and see wonderful interactive artwork come to life
in virtual space. It’s also interesting
to see the new tricks people use in programming their titles, pushing the
limits of software and hardware while still making an enjoyable game title.
Here are a few of my favorite game
titles:
I’m not so good with pen and paper, but
I can do something with edge and vertex.
